Award Application Instructions

Eligibility: All active SWANA members are eligible to enter. Self-nomination is not permitted.

What to Submit: A completed nomination form attached to these instructions covering the following information:

  • Name and contact information for nominee.

  • Name and contact information for nominating SWANA Buckeye Chapter Member.

  • Type of award.

Narrative to be limited to the attached nomination form and should include the following information:

  • Overview – brief description of the applicant you are nominating and a summary of why they are being nominated for the award.

  • Contributions to Industry – a brief summary of the applicant’s career and contributions to the solid waste industry.

  • Leadership Qualities – outstanding leadership and vision evidenced by employing progressive management techniques in the area of solid waste management.

  • Innovation – employment of new and innovative ideas and technology in advancing the effectiveness of solid waste management.

  • Community Service – promotion of the field of solid waste management in the community served.

  • Other Qualities – as defined by the nominating person as it relates to the award being applied for.

  • Professional Growth – examples of how the applicant stays professionally prepared and up-to-date in solid waste management as well as a discussion of the applicant’s participation in professional organizations.

  • Supporting Materials – such as photographs with captions, news articles, and other items can be included in the nomination application.
